About Our Council
Robert P. Connelly Council #5918 was founded in January 1967 in Woodridge, Illinois, by a group of dedicated Catholic men from the local community under the guidance of the Illinois State Council. From the beginning, the council has focused on strengthening parish life, supporting charitable works, and building fraternity among Catholic men.
Our council is named in honor of Robert P. Connelly, whose courageous act of selfless service—giving his life while trying to save another—embodies the spirit of charity and sacrifice that inspires our mission. His example calls us to live our faith with purpose, compassion, and a commitment to serving others.
